2. Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC), Kokrajhar
Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC) is a government engineering institute located at Chandrapara, approximately 5 km from Kokrajhar town in Assam. Established to promote higher technical education in the region, the college stands as a tribute to Bineswar Brahma, a prominent leader and social reformer of the Bodo community, who is revered as Subungthini Thandwi (Father of the Bodos). His lifelong dedication to social upliftment and education is commemorated through the naming of this institution.
The Government of Assam announced the establishment of an engineering college in Kokrajhar in 2006. Subsequently, the foundation stone of the college was laid by then Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on 16th August 2008 at Chandrapara. The college officially began functioning from the academic session 2010–11 under the leadership of Prof. Palash Jyoti Hazarika, the first Protem Principal.
Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC), Kokrajhar
Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC), Kokrajhar BBEC offered two undergraduate engineering programs with an intake of 60 students each:

Its location is steeped in historical and academic significance—bordered by Gauhati University to the north, the scenic Deepor Beel to the south, the Government Ayurvedic College to the east, and the Assam Police Radio Organisation to the west.

Jorhat Engineering College (JEC) is a premier technical institution in Northeast India and holds the distinction of being the second government engineering college in Assam. Established on 7th January 1959, the college began its journey within the premises of H.R.H. Prince of Wales Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jorhat, with Sri H.N. Barua, then Principal of the Institute, serving as the founding Principal-in-Charge of JEC.
Academic activities at the college formally commenced with the admission of the first batch in Civil Engineering on 10th October 1960, marking the beginning of a long and distinguished legacy in technical education.

5. Barak Valley Engineering College (BVEC), Assam
Barak Valley Engineering College (BVEC) is the first state government engineering college in the Barak Valley region and the fifth state engineering college in Assam. This institution was established as part of a visionary initiative by the Government of Assam in 2009, aimed at expanding access to technical education in the region.

6. Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology (JIST), Assam
Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology (JIST) is a premier government institute located in Sotai, in the Jorhat district of Assam.
